Stephanie and I make a whirlwind trip to Texas with Easter egg hunt pics.

Thanks to a call schedule flip-flop and some spontaneous decision making, Stephanie and I made a whirlwind trip to Gorman this weekend to see family, grill burgers with lots of family and as always have an excuse to eat Mexican and Barbecue (beef, of course). Not much to blog about other than 19 hours of quality time with my lovely wife, visiting with family and the requisite photo shoot of the nieces, nephews and cousins.

Our trip continued on with a pitstop with old friends in Temple and on to Gorman. There we had the pleasure of meeting another new niece for the first time. As a family we’ve found a pattern that works for us. Family gatherings consist of going to my grandpa’s and cooking some form of beef while watching the kids play in the yard. Overall we had a great we enjoying family, friends and great Texas food.

The Texas tour continued last month with stops in Wild Wood, Beaumont and Liberty, TX visiting Stephanie’s family. We had a great time catching up. The whole family treated us to a great Texas style lunch as well as a feast of surf and turf prepared by Stephanie’s Dad. One of the highlights of the trip was getting to meet my new niece for the first time. Although Stephanie had already had the pleasure, it was my first time.

Stephanie and I begin our tour of Texas

In keeping with precedence, most blogging corresponds with vacation time. Stephanie and I had the week off and began our tour of Texas; meaning we spent vacation visiting both of our families, which live in different parts of Texas. It had been a long time since we had been to Texas and much of our family hadn’t seen us in over a year. First on the journey was Stephanie’s grandparents who live on Sam Rayburn Lake. We always enjoy the peacefulness of the lake and as always the great company. It’s a great place to sit on the porch and enjoy great company and a great view. More of Texas still to come.

The Glovers are currently homeless nomads. We moved all of our stuff into storage and are touring Texas seeing family and friends one last time before we become permanent tenants of Tennessee. Our first stop was in Gorman where I undertook a carpentry project, building a fort/swing set in my parents’ backyard for our nieces and nephew. Although I really built it for them, I did make sure at least one of the swings was adult capacity
